Adrian, Ignis’ protector and mentor, confesses to inciting the rebellion against Ignis’ father, Pedr Solis. Having summoned “mythic forces” to fight for the cause, she promises to hold the wild rebels together and install Ignus as their leader. Drunk with power (and Aquavit) she now confronts him with his responsibility to lead the rebels. Ignis, however, has no appetite for authority, and further recognizes that Adrian only seeks to wield power through him.
